Since 1932, Minterbrook Oyster Company has been bringing fresh oysters & shellfish from the pristine waters of the Puget Sound to our local community and customers worldwide.
Minterbrook has always been a family owned and operated company, and the Kingman’s aspire to keep that virtue alive.
MAGIC OF THE BAY
Minter bay is unique to the Puget Sound as it features the combination of a large freshwater stream and a narrow outlet. This protected estuary promotes the robust fresh water influence that gives our oysters their naturally sweet flavor.
OUR UNIQUE PROCESS
Our plant sits right on the bay, allowing us to farm in a unique way. After harvest and sorting, we place our oysters & clams back in the natural bay water to refresh and strengthen before being shipped. Our shellfish are always hoisted out of the water within hours of shipping. We call this our Rejuvenation Process.
EXTRAORDINARY FRESHNESS
Our family discovered this rejuvenation process while visiting Monaco on the French Riviera. We met the local oyster grower who found a way to serve the richest oysters to the royal family regardless of the time or season. The advantage of his technique proved a miraculous increase in freshness, vigor, and longevity.
