The Minterbrook Story

Meet Minterbrook

Since 1932, Minterbrook Oyster Company has been bringing fresh oysters and shellfish from cold waters of Puget Sound to our local community and customers worldwide. Minterbrook has always been a family owned and operated company, and the Kingmans aspire to keep that virtue alive.

Our Story

The Amazing Property

Magic of the Bays

Our incredible properties at Minter Bay and Rocky Bay are unique to Puget Sound, featuring the combination of a large freshwater stream and a narrow outlet. These protected estuaries promote a robust freshwater influence that gives our oysters and clams their naturally sweet flavor.

Quality Shellfish

Minterbrook produces some of the finest oysters and shellfish in the world, served in celebrated restaurants locally, nationally, and globally, and shipped to customers who have depended on us for over a decade.

From Tide to Table

Our Unique Process

Our plant sits right on the bay, allowing us to farm in a way unlike anyone else. Every oyster is hand harvested, sorted, and shipped within hours of leaving the water — a process refined over decades and rooted in a technique discovered on the French Riviera.

Life on the Bays

The Wildlife

We seek to live and work in harmony with the incredible ecosystem surrounding our farm. Our land and bays are home and refuge to innumerable animals and wildlife — from bald eagles and blue herons to blacktail deer, salmon, harbor seals and visiting orcas.
